Welcome to Smart Budget. By downloading, installing, or using our mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Smart Budget, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Smart Budget is a personal finance application that helps you:

Track income and expenses
Scan and process receipts
Set and manage budgets
Get AI-powered financial insights
Share budgets with household members
Export financial data

3. Account Registration

Some features require you to create an account using Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for:

Maintaining the security of your account
All activities that occur under your account
Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use

4. Subscriptions and Payments

4.1 Free and Premium Features

Smart Budget offers both free features and a Premium subscription with additional capabilities including receipt scanning, AI insights, voice input, and household sharing.

4.2 Subscription Terms

Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through your Apple ID
Payment is charged at confirmation of purchase
Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings

4.3 Refunds

Refund requests are handled by Apple according to their App Store policies. Please contact Apple Support for refund inquiries.

5. User Content and Data

5.1 Your Data

You retain ownership of all financial data, receipts, and other content you enter into the App. We do not claim any ownership rights over your content.

5.2 Data Accuracy

You are responsible for the accuracy of information you enter. Smart Budget provides tools to help manage your finances but does not guarantee the accuracy of AI-processed data such as receipt scans or automatic categorizations.

5.3 Backup Responsibility

While we provide backup and export features, you are responsible for maintaining your own backups of important financial data.

6. Household Sharing

If you use household sharing features:

You may invite up to 6 members to share a household budget
Shared data is visible to all household members
The household creator can remove members at any time
Each member needs their own Premium subscription to access premium features

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the App for any illegal purpose
Attempt to reverse engineer or extract source code
Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality
Use automated systems to access the App
Share your account credentials with others

8. AI Features

Smart Budget uses artificial intelligence for features like receipt scanning, categorization, and financial tips. You acknowledge that:

AI-generated results may not always be accurate
You should verify important financial information
AI features require an internet connection
AI processing is subject to our Privacy Policy

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

Smart Budget is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that:

The App will be uninterrupted or error-free
AI features will be 100% accurate
The App will meet all your requirements

Smart Budget is not a substitute for professional financial advice. Consult a qualified financial advisor for important financial decisions.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Smart Budget and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits or data, arising from your use of the App.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, through in-app notifications. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time for violation of these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time. Upon termination, you may export your data using the App's export feature.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Switzerland.
